Our managing director Mathias Thomas represents Germany as Senator TUP in the Senate of Economy.
The Senate of Economy is composed of leading individuals from business, science and society who are particularly aware of their responsibility to the government and society. Together, they contribute to the practical implementation of the common good-oriented goals of sustainability in the sense of the eco-social market economy.
Only those who are proposed by a representative of the organization can become members.
“It is a great honor to be part of this circle of committed individuals. In keeping with the Senate’s declared goal of developing sustainable solutions for the future, I will bring my topics of smart cities, sustainable logistics and e-commerce into the discussion at national and international level,” concludes Mathias Thomas.
The Senate of Economics is in this way reviving the traditional idea of the senates in ancient times. A balanced circle of friends with an independent spirit focused on the common good rather than solely on particular interests.
The Senate of Economics is oriented towards the public good and is in constant dialogue with representatives from politics and science. The honorary senators Jean-Claude Juncker, Prof. Günther Verheugen, Prof. Klaus Töpfer, Prof. Jürgen Rüttgers and Rosi Gollmann, along with many other experts, are exciting sources of inspiration.
The ethical principles of the Senate’s community are the basis and guideline for the economic actions of the members of the Senate. Fairness and partnership in business life as well as the required social competence of entrepreneurs and executives characterize the work of the Senate.
