Storage warehouses are used to balance out fluctuations in demand. They regularly provide material for production over a longer period of time between two receipts or receive material for distribution between two issues. A typical feature of supply warehouses is that storage and retrieval can be irregular.
V. are primarily used to bridge a longer period of time. Cf. buffer storage, consolidated and distribution storage.
