Remaining stock

Remaining stock is the quantity that is located on a staging unit in the storage area or picking zone. The following procedures must be observed when handling R: If a strict FIFO (First In -; First Out) procedure is used for picking and the R. is smaller than the required picking quantity, at least two staging units must be moved for picking. If, on the other hand, a unit with at least the withdrawal quantity is selected (assuming a reduced FIFO and other boundary conditions), this results in many remaining quantity pallets, which reduce the storage fill level (fill level). Additional compaction measures may then be necessary.
