Production requirements planning

Production requirements planning comprises all planning measures for the production of goods or the provision of a service. It includes the so-called gross and net determination of secondary requirements (required materials without or with the inclusion of warehouse stocks), the allocation of the resulting procurements (external production or in-house production), throughput scheduling (chronological sequence of internal production orders) and the determination and coordination of required capacities (plants, machines, personnel, etc.).
