Point of Sale

(abbr. POS) 1. refers to the point of sale to the end customer. – 2. in a narrower, logistical sense, the POS is associated with the reading of the code on the product (tag or barcode) to determine the sales price at the checkout of a sales outlet, in turn associated with the subsequent booking in a corresponding merchandise management system. – 3. is a payment system.
