Multiple Sourcing

Multi-source sourcing refers to a procurement strategy in which goods are purchased from several sources in order to achieve an optimal supply and minimize risk by dividing the order between two or more suppliers (multi-source supply) (it should be noted that the cost of production planning and control increases with the number of suppliers). In contrast, see single sourcing and global sourcing.

    (engl. für „Mehrquellenbeschaffung“;) bezeichnet eine Beschaffungsstrategie, bei der Ware von mehreren Einkaufsquellen bezogen wird, um eine optimale Versorgung und Risikominderung durch eine Auftragsteilung auf zwei oder mehr Lieferanten (Mehr-Quellen-Versorgung) zu erreichen (zu beachten ist, dass der Aufwand für Produktionsplanung und -steuerung mit der Lieferantenzahl wächst).
