Morphological method

The morphological method is a procedure for systematically finding solutions. In this method, a task is broken down into components that influence the solution. Various design variants are then sought for these and arranged together with the components in a matrix (morphological box). The possible combinations result in all fundamentally possible combinations for solving the problem on the basis of the selected components and design variants. A typical area of application is the selection of suitable technology for a materials handling task.
