Mobile data memory

Mobile data memory (MDS) is a generic term for electronic memories (often EEPROM) which, as active MDS, are equipped with a battery or, as passive MDS, are supplied with energy by the reader. MDSs are differentiated according to their data transmission media (e.g. contact, light, radio frequency, etc.). RFID tag (tag) is a synonym for high-frequency MDS.
