Material flow simulation

Material flow simulation is an analysis often carried out in the planning phase of material flow systems to demonstrate the performance of a planned system variant. The M. is often carried out by the contractor with real and forecast order data from the client in order to map the dynamics and structure of articles, orders, loading aids, etc. as realistically as possible. At the same time, the capacity, performance and planned control of the test variant are to be examined for optimization possibilities. Increasingly, simulations are also being used in the real operation of plants, e.g. for predictive resource planning. See also simulation.
