Crosswise distribution refers to the (even) distribution of an item across several aisles or storage locations, particularly in automated warehouses, with the aim of increasing picking performance by accessing the same item in several aisles at the same time. At the same time, access to articles is guaranteed if one or more aisles fail in a picking or supply warehouse.
