Browser

A browser is a software application that is used to display Internet pages, also known as web pages. They are increasingly being used as terminal or client software in logistics, both in stationary and mobile systems.

In logistics, browsers are used to transfer information, which is usually in HTML or XML format (HyperText Markup Language, Extensible Markup Language). These formats enable the structuring and presentation of information on websites.

An important aspect is the ability to execute or interpret special programs or scripts such as ActiveX and JavaScript on the client. This allows dynamic interactions between the client and the server to be realized. For example, tracking information can be retrieved and displayed via a website, or forms can be filled out and transmitted.

The use of browsers in logistics offers a variety of benefits, including the ability to retrieve real-time information, improve efficiency in communication and data exchange and increase transparency along the supply chain.

With increasing digitalization and connectivity in logistics, browsers are playing an increasingly important role in managing orders, monitoring deliveries, tracking shipments and communicating with suppliers and customers. They are an essential tool for ensuring the smooth running of logistics processes and increasing customer satisfaction.
