analog tachograph

The analog tachograph chart used up to now has been replaced by the digital tachograph. Since May 2006, it has been mandatory throughout Europe for trucks with a gross weight of 3.5 tons or more and buses with more than eight seats. Every driver has a driver card with which he activates the tachograph. The data relating to driving times and rest periods are stored for a period of 365 days, are tamper-proof and are intended to enable better control compared to the tachograph chart.
