Tracking and Tracing

is computer-aided shipment tracking, both internally and externally. It is now common practice to be able to retrieve information on the Internet in real time.
In addition, GS1 (Global Standards 1, formerly CCG mbH) makes the following distinction:

Tracking: Tracing of the raw material to the end product
Tracing: Tracking of the end product back to the raw material

Both terms together result in traceability as a special transparency in all stages of the supply chain.

    • Tracing: Rückverfolgung des Endprodukts bis zum Rohmaterial
    • Beide Begriffe zusammen ergeben die Traceability als besondere Transparenz in allen Stufen der Supply Chain.
