AETR

The AETR, abbreviation for the “European Agreement concerning the Work of Crews of Vehicles engaged in International Road Transport”, was concluded in Geneva in 1970. The aim of this agreement is to regulate and harmonize the working conditions of vehicle crews in international road transport.

The AETR lays down detailed regulations for various aspects of working conditions, including working hours, rest breaks, vacation regulations and other important provisions. It applies in the signatory countries and is applicable to the transportation of goods and passengers in international road transport.

One of the central objectives of the AETR is to ensure a level playing field in the international road transport sector. By laying down uniform rules for working conditions, the AETR helps to ensure fair competition and the safety of vehicle crews.

In the context of globalization and increasing international road transport, the AETR plays an important role in promoting standards and cooperation between signatory countries.
