Key Performance Indicator

Key performance indicators (abbr. KPI) are indicators at a high level of aggregation, which can be used to directly assess the current performance and functionality of a system. See also Benchmarking and Supply Chain Operations Reference Scheme.

A KPI is also is an agreed-upon quality parameter within the framework of a logistics contract, the degree of fulfillment of which is the benchmark for quality achievement; usually combined with a bonus-malus system.
