Alternative Meanings:
- Cost-benefit analysisThe NWA uses an objective function to determine the variant that provides the highest utility value in comparison with several alternatives. The NWA is used in particular when multiple dependent and difficult or unquantifiable influencing factors need to be evaluated. The key feature here is that qualitative facts or characteristics that are not scalable in themselves can be converted into scalable variables and thus subjected to calculation operations. In many cases, a not unimportant side effect of NWA is that the people involved in the decision-making process become aware of the complexity of the decision-making situation. One example of this is the selection of a storage system. Source: logipedia / Fraunhofer IML
